Even Tennessee Walt admitted that he was surprised (and gratified) by the audience turnout for the last performance in his week of shows at the Bay View Music Festival in northern Michigan, this past Saturday. After a week of three shows featuring classic country music of the 1920s through the 1990s, Sounds Like Country from Here: Songs by Tennessee Walt was an all-originals program. "People pay me good money to sing Hank Williams and Johnny Cash songs," Walt said, "but not usually to sing my own stuff. It was great to have so many people come to hear my original songs, and stick around afterward to tell me how much they enjoyed them. It was a great end to a great week."
