Robert Del Monte, the longest-serving member of the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island, recently marked 50 straight years with the company, from 1971 to 1921, and was presented with a commemorative plaque by the company's second-longest-serving member, Gayden Wren. In that time Del Monte has been seen in all 14 Gilbert & Sullivan operas, most of them many times; he is noted for his performances as the Foreman in Trial by Jury, the Noble in The Mikado and Giorgio in The Gondoliers.
