The Bethpage Public Library will welcome the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island on July 6, when the company presents its innovative production of The Mikado: A Long Island Fantasy. Director Tony Tambasco has relocated the classic Gilbert & Sullivan opera from 19th-century Japan to 1920s Long Island, the age of flappers, Prohibition and The Great Gatsby.
