On the opening day of the 2019 Fest for Beatles Fans, held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Jersey City, a small but engaged audience heard a talk by author Sara Holliday, whose "A Thousand Dances: A Novel of the British Blues Boom" is set amid the musical tumult of early-1960s London. Holliday talked about the genesis of the book and about her use of real-life musicians--including Roger Daltrey. Mick Jagger, John Mayall, Keith Richards and Pete Townshend--as characters in her book. Her presentation ended in enthusiastic applause, and audience members sought her out for further conversation throughout the weekend.
