Tennessee Walt took his popular show "The Other Great American Songbook" to the Cold Spring Harbor Public Library today for a special show that included a tip of the hat to Valentine's Day. In addition to the usual classic country songs by Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Jimmie Rodgers and others, Walt interpolated the perennial love song "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You," written by country duo Lulubelle and Scotty. "Lots of country songs are pretty downbeat on relationships--they're about cheating, about being cheated on, about being alone," Walt explained, "and I just wanted to acknowledge that country has its share of songs about true love as well."
