The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island brought the principals-only version of its 2018 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "Patience" to the Deer Park Public Library this afternoon.
A full house tapped along with Arthur Sullivan's catchy tunes and W.S. Gilbert's clever lyrics (a few of them revised to fit director Alexander Sheerin's updated version of the 1881 opera). The audience was particularly appreciative of John Callison as Archibald Grosvenor and Christine Dentato as Patience.
The company will preview the full-company version of the production on June 10 in East Meadow, before launching a run (with orchestra conducted by music director Conrad Chu) extending through July 1, with shows in Nassau County, Suffolk County and Manhattan.
