The Principals-Only Version of the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island's 2018 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "Patience" debuted today at the Westbury Public Library.
The classic opera, re-envisioned by director Alexander Sheerin to be set in contemporary New York, outside a Starbucks-like coffee shop, was well received by a capacity crowd, with particular favorites being Chris Jurak as Colonel Calverley and Victoria Isernia as Lady Jane.
"Patience" will next be seen, in the principals-only version, at the Deer Park Public Library on April 29. The full-company version (with orchestra accompaniment) will premiere in June.
