Jim McCarty, founding drummer of the Yardbirds, isn't an ordinary reader of Sara Holliday's upcoming book, "A Thousand Dances: A Novel of the British Blues Boom." McCarty isn't only a reader of the novel, but also a character in the story, which is set in 1963 London at the height of the British blues boom.
